Marcus Thinh Anthony Thibodeau is queer, POC, first-gen, and an interdisciplinary artist working between SoCal and Chicago.

Exploring objects and image making through print media, photography, sculpture, and installation, his practice is reasoning with the displaced experiences between stories, objects, and place, as well as the uncertainties of inbetweeness. He focuses on the complexities and tensions of being simultaneously within but also without: a perpetual fluctuation between nearness and distance and the need to simulate but also assimilate in order to re-attain a societal identity, a performable performativity.

He holds an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where he currently teaches in the Contemporary Practices and Continuing Studies Departments.
